Susan Birkeland was an activist and her poetry and other writings often spoke against injustice. She was a peacemaker who marched against all war and spent most of her day to day life creating beauty, fostering understanding and promoting and practicing the principles of
Peace and Love. Not motivated by the desire to accumulate
monetary wealth for herself, Susan preferred to live a very simple life style. Susan's true wealth was her loving kindness, encouragement and understanding of people. Her greatest joy was to be of service, to express herself and create beauty with her art and to share truth through poetry. She was a lover of the Earth, supporter of environmental causes, kind to animals and contributed to
the causes listed here.
